Biography
Vikram Kulkarni, born in 1972 is a Pune based artist. He studied painting at Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalaya Pune, Masters and PHD from Tilak Maharashtra University. His career spans over 30 years and has received state and National Level awards. Vikram was awarded Jr. Fellowship for painting from the Ministry of Culture in 2000. He was awarded for fellowship for research in folk arts from The Asiatic Society of Mumbai and Tagore Fellowship Of Indian institute of Advanced study, Shimla.
He has held 7 Solo shows, 11 Duet shows and 59 Group shows in India and abroad since 1993. Vikram lives in Pune and is working as an associate Professor in S.N.D.T Women’s University. Initially he started with landscape and watercolour. Later turned to abstract painting. In his abstraction one can see nature and it’s drama. The colours of sky, textures of land and human settlement are his inspiration.
