Biography
Favouring vibrant hues Ravindra Salve’s canvases incorporate bold use of colour suggesting a virtual flight of fantasy. Figurative and religious themes give shape to his ideas. The artist based in Mumbai, uses larger than life images in sense of proportion as well as colour.

Working for the most part with acrylics, Salve uses figures and shapes to dominate the canvas. It is the assemblage of these shapes and the vivid hues characteristic of his paintings that dramatize the themes.

He has participated in numerous group exhibitions including Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai 1983-1986, B.B.L. Bank Antwerpen, Belgium 1991, Art for Hope – Hope for Cancer Auction & Exhibition at Windor Manor, Bangalore 1995, Years of Independence Art Show, Jehangir Art Gallery 1998 and Art Show for Gujarat Relief Economic & Emotional Support, N.G.M.A, Mumbai 2001.His solo exhibitions include Jehangir Art Gallery1986,90,92,94,97,99 as well a Bajaj Art Gallery, Mumbai 1991.
